Services offered for cats and dogs:

Wellness exams - A veterinary-client-patient relationship is required before we can provide vaccines or any medication. To establish this relationship an exam is required. A yearly examination is important to identify any potential problems early. After 7 years of age an exam every 6 months is advised

Vaccinations - We follow a 3 year vaccine protocol for rabies and the canine/feline combination vaccines. The canine kennel cough (bordetella), lyme, and feline leukemia vaccines are given yearly.

Microchipping - Microchips are an added security for identifying your pet. If your cat or dog was to wander off, a microchip will help to reunite you with your furry friend.

Deworming - Protocols vary depending on the age and lifestyle of your pet.

Nutritional Consults - Choosing a diet can be overwhelming given the number of options available. We can help you understand the difference between certain diets and help you make the right choice.

Nail trims and Anal gland expression - These simple procedures are often stressful for the pet. This stress can be reduced if they are in the comfort of their home.

Diagnostic Exams - Blood and urine can be collected in a home setting. The majority of these samples will be sent to the lab at the veterinary college. Other diagnostics can be performed on-site such as ear swabs, skin scrapings, and fine needle aspirates of lumps.

Health Certificates - If you plan on travelling we can provide a health certificate.

Senior wellness profiles - Exams and labwork are an essential part of preventive medicine, especially in our senior pets. Making an early diagnosis aids in treatment/management.

Palliative care - For many senior patients mobility is compromised. A home visit can really help these patients. Pain managment is a high priority to ensure quality of life.

Euthanasia and cremation services - Making that final decision is never easy. We can help you decide if the time is right for euthanasia. A comfortable home environment is a preferred way to say goodbye to a beloved member of the family. We use Family Pet for our cremation services.
